Foreign Medical Students’Summer Internship Program at Taizhou Hospital(June-August, 2013)

Taizhou Hospital has been receiving medical students from Rosalind Franklin University-Chicago Medical School (CMS, America) and Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU-SOM, America) for summer internship every year ever since 2002 and 2006 respectively. In 2013, there are altogether 3 medical students from WSU-SOM (10th June-28th June), 12 students from CMS (6th July-3rd August) and 2 students from Wenzhou Medical University (8th July-8th August). The students are assigned to different clinical departments every week according to their choices and everyone has a certain tutor to supervise them. Every Wednesday night during their internship, these foreign medical students voluntarily hold an English class, giving all kinds of topics covering foreign culture, medical education, holidays, entertainments and so on, playing games to promote interaction, which is greatly welcomed by young medical staff, students and social volunteers in the hospital. The summer internship program for foreign medical students is on the whole a successful one for it provides opportunities for medical people from different countries to have direct communication with each other and learn from each other.
